West China Cement Ltd: new appointments

Dr Ma Weiping has resigned as executive director and chief executive officer of West China Cement Ltd, effective from 2 February 2023. According to the company, Dr Ma has chosen to leave “to devote more time to his other personal endeavours”. The board thanks Dr Ma for his valuable contributions to the company during his time at West China Cement Ltd. 

Effective immediately, Cao Jianshun has been appointed executive director and chief executive officer. Mr Cao has extensive experience in the building materials industry in China having previously held roles at Yaobai Special Cement Group Co Ltd, Chzhungtsai Mohir Cement LLC, and International Cement Investment Management Co. He has also been chairman and president of Yaobai Group since January 2023. 

Also effective immediately is the appointment of Wang Fayin as executive director at West China Cement Ltd. Mr Wang joined the group in 1996 and has since held various positions including supply manager, deputy manager and project manager. He has also been president of West International Holding Ltd since April 2021. Chu Yufeng has also been appointed executive director at West China Cement Ltd, bringing with him extensive experience in financial management following roles with Italcementi Group and Sino-Bangladesh Ceramic Industry Co Ltd.
