HeidelbergCement Bangladesh to change its name

HeidelbergCement Bangladesh Ltd has called the Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for 8 May 2024 to approve some important company matters and change the company’s name in Bangladesh. This follows the announcement that one of the company’s major shareholders, HeidelbergCement Netherlands Holding BV, changed its name to “Heidelberg Materials Netherlands Holding BV”, effective from 3 November 2023.

It is to be noted that Heidelberg Materials Netherlands Holding BV (formerly known as HeidelbergCement Netherlands Holding BV) holds 22,493,020 ordinary shares in paper format with a nominal value of BDT 10 each is 39.81 per cent of HeidelbergCement’s total paid-up capital.

The HeidelbergCement Bangladesh Ltd (HCBL) Board of Directors has approved changing the company’s name to Heidelberg Materials Bangladesh PLC to better reflects the evolving nature of its business and aligns with its global branding strategy, said the company.

The agenda for the name change will be submitted to the company's shareholders for approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 8 May 2024. It is committed to ensuring a smooth transition process and will provide updates on any developments regarding this change.
