CEMEX has signed an agreement with Gharbia Governorate to operate the first Regenera facility in Egypt. Through this agreement, CEMEX will treat more than 800tpd of municipal solid waste received to generate alternative fuels and produce compost, ensuring minimal residual waste to landfill.

According to the company, this agreement supports circularity as well as the wellbeing of the governorate citizens by ensuring that all the daily collected waste is safely treated while avoiding the negative impacts associated with landfilling.

Through Regenera, CEMEX aims to conserve natural resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and benefit communities by promoting sustainable development and reducing the environmental impact of industrial activities.
