Uzbekistan’s cement market saw a 58 per cent YoY expansion in 2024, with sales on the Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) reaching 5.9Mt, according to industry analysts. Average monthly sales surpassed 0.49Mt, underlining strong demand for construction materials across the country.
Ahangarantsement led the market, accounting for 18 per cent of total sales, followed by Qizilqumsement and Bekabadcement, which held market shares of three per cent and one per cent, respectively.
Tashkent and its surrounding region represented the largest share of cement purchases at 34 per cent, followed by Samarkand (15 per cent), Kashkadarya (14 per cent) and Ferghana (eight per cent).
Between January and November, large enterprises produced 14.74Mt of cement, a significant increase from 11.17Mt in 2023 and 10.79Mt in 2022. Growth has been driven by government reforms, infrastructure projects and increased investment.
