Global construction company Bouygues Construction has signed an agreement with low-carbon cement producer Ecocem

The long-term goal of the partnership is to use Ecocem’s ACT technology to lower the carbon footprint of concrete across Bouygues’ global supply chain. The roll-out of ACT will follow a period of rigorous research, development and validation in lab and ‘real world’ settings, with Bouygues Construction’s R&D and Innovation team and at the company’s Scale One facility in Chilly-Mazarin, France.

ACT Technology can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 70 per cent by replacing clinker with alternative materials without affecting the workability, durability and strength of concrete.

The partnership demonstrates how cleantech companies, such as Ecocem, can help scale low-carbon cement solutions across the construction industry.
