Brazilian cement producer Cimento Nacional, part of Buzzi, has signed a power purchase agreement with renewables developer Casa dos Ventos, which will supply wind power from its 756MW Serra do Tigre and 360MW Babilonia Sul wind farms.
Casa dos Ventos will supply Cimento Nacional with approximately 65MW per year under a 15-year agreement to cover the cement producer’s power requirements in its Brazilian plants.
Babilonia Sul is in full operation in Bahia state while Serra do Tigre is currently under construction in Rio Grande do Norte.
