CIMAF has signed a new agreement with Gabon’s Minister of Trade and SMEs, Parfaite Amouyeme Ollame, to strengthen local cement production, according to the Gabonese Press Agency. The agreement is expected to meet growing demand for cement in Gabon and improve the sector’s competitiveness. 

The memorandum of understanding provides for the installation of a third production line at CIMAF Gabon’s New Owendo plant, Libreville, increasing capacity from 0.85Mta to 1.85Mta. CIMAF also committed to building a clinker plant in the Ntoum region, which is expected to generate nearly 1400 jobs.
