Colombian cement market expands 5% in October

Cement dispatches in Colombia increased 5.2 per cent YoY to 1.169Mt in October 2020 when compared with 1.111Mt delivered in October 2019, according to the national statistics agency, DANE. The rise was supported by an increase in the retail segment, where dispatches were up by 10.6 per cent YoY. Cement dispatches in Colombia increased to 1.131Mt in September 2020, up 4.9 per cent from 1.078Mt in September 2019, according to DANE, the national statistics office. Cemex Latam Holdings announced that its consolidated net sales declined by eight per cent in 3Q20 and EBITDA improved by 19 per cent compared to 3Q19. Cement dispatches in Colombia slipped 4.3 per cent to 1.052Mt in August 2020 from 1.099Mt in August 2019, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE.
