Colombia’s cement consumption increased 12.4 per cent YoY in July 2019 to 1.113Mt, reports the country’s statistics office, DANE. Cementos Argos has reported a 10.6 per cent YoY increase in revenue to US$1.419m in the opening half of 2019. Over the same period, net profit advanced by 33.5 per cent to US$22m, while EBITDA improved by four per cent to US$262.4m. Argos has announced that the company's net income grew by 33.5 per cent to US$22m in 1H19. Argos revenues also expanded by 10.6 per cent to US$1.419m, while EBITDA registered an increase of four per cent to total US$262.4m. Domestic dispatches in Colombia advanced by 3.8 per cent from 0.943Mt in June 2018 to 0.979Mt in June 2019, according to DANE, the country’s statistics office. National cement dispatches in Colombia declined 3.9 per cent YoY to 0.991Mt in April 2019 from 1.031Mt in April 2018, according to the country’s national statistics office, DANE. In the first three months of 2019, Argos reported revenues of US$693.8m, an increase of 14 per cent on 1Q18. Grey cement production in Colombia increased seven per cent YoY to 1.14Mt in March 2019, according to the latest data by the country’s statistics office, DANE.
