Mexico's Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) has announced that it has joined the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as part of its commitment to set science-based emission reduction targets, according to a press release. Corporate clean energy surges in 2019

The world witnessed a surge in corporate sustainability commitment in 2019 as corporations purchased a record amount of clean energy through power purchase agreements (PPAs), which were up by 40 per cent from the previous year’s record. For the first time, ultra-low carbon Cemfree concrete has been used on a UK highways project in an attempt to lower CO 2 usage at the Woodford West Viaduct on the M25 in the UK. San Miguel Corp and Aboitz Equity Ventures Inc are using old plastic shopping bags, sachet wrappers and plastic packaging in their asphalt road mix to meet the Philippines' need for its US$157bn ‘Build, Build, Build’ infrastructure programme.
