Cherat Cement to receive gas for its captive power plant04 March 2020, Published under Cement NewsCherat Cement Co Ltd (CHCC) has started receiving gas supply from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd, for its for its plant located at Nowshera in KPK province, Pakistan. This will help in reducing the production costs of the company, said the company's Executive Director Abid Wazir. Quinn Cement fined GBP2000 or emissions breach02 March 2020, Published under Cement NewsQuinn Cement was fined GBP2000 (US$2554), having pleaded guilty to failing to limit gas emissions from its Ballyconnell plant in Ireland. The breach ocurred between 2018-19 and was monitored by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to have surpassed permitted levels for Hydrogen Chloride release.
