Lhiost is partnering with Air Liquide to launch a first-of-its-kind decarbonisation project of lime production in France. As part of this project, Air Liquide would build and operate a Cryocap™ FG (Flue Gas) unit to capture and purify 95 per cent of the CO 2 arising from Lhoist’s production unit in Réty. The Government of Québec announced that it will provide CAD40m to Ciment Québec Inc to modernise part of the cement producer’s Saint-Basile plant to enable the production of lower-carbon cement. The project will include a new grinding workshop with two new grinding mills and could benefit from an additional CAD6m, added as financial support from the Québec Ministry of Finance. Adbri Ltd has released its Net Zero Emissions Roadmap for 2050, outlining three new medium-term 2030 emissions reduction targets for cement, lime and electricity. The roadmap builds upon the company’s 32 per cent reduction in operational greenhouse gas emissions since 2010.    The first new target focuses on cement.
