FLSmidth swings to full-year loss, Denmark

FLSmidth reported its first full-year net loss for over a decade and saw cement orders fall by 26 per cent despite a strong increase in the final quarter. The Denmark-based equipment supplier reported a net loss of DKK784m (US$143.9m) for last year compared with a net profit of DKK1.3bn in 2012. FLSmidth has received an order worth US$38m from Oman Cement Co for the supply of milling equipment for a grinding plant located in Rusayl Industrial Area, 6km from Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat.   The order covers supply of a 150tph closed circuit ball mill system including two cement silos, each with a capacity of 8000t. PT Semen Padang, part of the Semen Indonesia Group, has ordered a new cement production line with a capacity of 8000tpd from FLSmidth (Denmark), worth EUR40m (DKK 300m), according to a press release from the Danish equipment manufacturer. FLSmidth has confirmed it is in talks with Oman Cement Co for supply of equipment and machinery for a cement plant following reports in Omani media. The Danish equipment supplier said in a statement that: “If and when down payment is received and the contract becomes binding, we shall immediately inform the market.”

Letter of Intent signed for new Qatari plant

FLSmidth has confirmed that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Qatar National Cement for a cement plant, following reports in the Qatari media. The Danish equipment supplier said in a statement if and when the contract is finalised and becomes binding, it will immediately inform the market.   The project is for a new cement plant in Qatar.

FLSmidth confirms Qatari project talks, contract to be finalised

Following reports in Qatari media stating that FLSmidth has entered into an agreement with Qatari Investors Group for supply of equipment and machinery for a cement plant in Qatar, the Danish equipment supplier has confirmed negotiations are currently taking place. However, in a statement released yesterday, FLSmidth said that the order is yet to be confirmed:  "If and when a contract is finalised and becomes binding, we shall immediately inform the market," the release said.

Oman Cement Company has decided to award the contract for supply and installation of a new cement mill with capacity of 150tph to FLSmidth Pvt Ltd.
