Algeria starts clinker exports to France

CILAS commenced Algerian clinker exports to France with a 9000t shipment of clinker from the port of Skikda. In the coming weeks, other shipments of 10,000t will leave Algeria for France, according to M Souakri. Vicat announced FY20 sales of EUR2805m, up 5.5 per cent from EUR2740m in FY19. EBITDA rose to EUR557m, up by 10.1 per cent LfL and EBIT increased to EUR298m, a rise of 17.5 per cent LfL.  Vicat’s consolidated net income reached EUR172m, up 17.5 per cent LfL from EUR160m in FY19. LafargeHolcim to close Contes cement line

LafargeHolcim will shut down cement production at its Contes plant in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France. Aggregate production at the site will not be affected by the reorganisation. A reorganisation plant was presented to the company’s social partners on 3 February. Hoffman Green Cement launches construction second plant

Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies (HGCT) has started work on the construction of its second cement plant, which represents an investment of EUR22m. Located in Bournezeau in the Vendée region of France, the facility will have the capacity to produce 0.25Mta of low-carbon cement. Commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2022, according to Ll’Usine Nouvelle.
