The plastic would partially replace coal use at the works. The project is expected to create jobs in the local area, related to the preparation and transportation of the potential fuel. Temporary lay-offs at Brookfield plant, Canada03 December 2013, Published under Cement NewsLafarge Canada plans to layoff 31 of about 50 unionised workers at its Brookfield plant in Nova Scotia during December as part of a cost-cutting measure. The company applied for the 31ha expansion of its existing aggregate operation back in 2007, the Hamilton Spectator reports.
