Paraguay: INC expects to close year with PYG25bn in cash29 September 2017, Published under Cement NewsParaguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) expects to close this year with around PYG25bn (US$4.4m) in cash and a positive balance, according to its President, Jorge Méndez. He added that various projects undertaken at the plant – such as conversion from a fuel oil-based to a 100 per cent petcoke firing programme at Vallemí and the planned modern palletiser at Villeta – will enable the cement producer to increase output and decrease production costs. |
August brings 12% sales boost for INC08 September 2017, Published under Cement NewsParaguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) saw its sales increase 12 per cent YoY in August as it sold 1,286,339 bags of cement in the country. In August 2016 the cement producer sold 1,148,529 bags. In the year to date, 8,745,627 bags were sold. In 2016 INC sales reached 13,202,803 and the company expects to surpass this figure this year. Paraguay: INC reduces cement price as output increases08 August 2017, Published under Cement NewsParaguay-based Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) has reduced cement prices to PYG36,500/bag from PYG39,800/bag - the third price reduction in the past four years. Production costs at the Vallemi plant are falling. The switch from fuel oil to petcoke has enabled the company to save US$20m. In addition, cement production increased to 180tpd from 80tpd during the same time frame. “From 1 January to Friday, 4 July 2017, 7246,884 bags were dispatched,” according to INC. |

It is expected that the new mill will help the cement producer to double production capacity. Forecasts indicate that the increased supply to the market will result in a fall in cement prices to PYG35,000 in around the first quarter of 2018 although a decrease may start as early as the end of this year. |
