Paraguay to import 200,000 bags of cement22 October 2015, Published under Cement NewsParaguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) estimate it will import around 200,000 bags of cement per month to cover domestic demand this year, according to its CEO, Jorge Méndez. "The idea is to buy at similar cost to what we produce in Paraguay and from countries of the region such as Argentina and Brazil," said Mr Mendez. He added that currently the production of cement is about 50,000 bags per day and for next week, that will increase to cover the amount that came producing normally. |

Paraguay: cement price predicted to fall 15% in 201619 August 2015, Published under Cement NewsFollowing the fuel conversion at Industria Nacional de Cemento’s Villeta plant in Paraguay, its CEO, Jorge Méndez, said he expects up to a 15 per cent drop in the price of cement in 2016. Paraguay: INC’s kiln returns to normal service10 July 2015, Published under Cement NewsIndustria Nacional del Cemento (INC) announced that its kiln at the Vallemi works is back up and running since Tuesday after a six-day stop due to technical issues. At present the company is carrying out a fuel switch that will see the plant operate with petcoke, forest waste and coal among others. The change in fuel will allow INC to save over US$22m. Paraguay: INC expects to use up 20% biofuel05 June 2015, Published under Cement NewsParaguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) announced that subject to satisfactory analysis results, the cement producer will be including biofuel in its fuel mix. A series of tests is currently being carried out by the Engineering Faculty of the National University of Asuncíon (UNA). Paraguay: INC lowers cement price04 March 2015, Published under Cement NewsINC has reduced the price for three types of cement. Vallemí cement will see a fall from PYG38,990 (US$8.34) to PYG35,000 while cement sold from the Villeta works will see its price reduced from PYG41,500 to PYG41,000. Pozzolana cement now costs PYG41,500, down from PYG42,500. The company is currently investing US$67m in a fuel conversion project, saving US$10m annually as well as increasing production by 8000 bags/day. |
