Previously announced plans of more than 6Mta of new capacity during 2016-18 remain unchanged, according to the Portland Cement Association’s (PCA’s) latest capacity report. US seven-month shipments reach 48.5Mt – preliminary data

Total Portland and blended cement shipments in the US and Puerto Rico for the seven months to the end of July 2014 reached 48.537Mt, preliminary data from the US Geological Survey (USGS) shows. Of the total, domestic supplies amounted to 44.672Mt while imports were 3.865Mt. Fitch Ratings has assigned expected ratings of 'BB-/RR3(EXP)' to Cemex's proposed USD notes due in 2025 and its proposed Euro notes due in 2022.
