White cement anti-dumping duties issued in South Korea

South Korea is to impose anti-dumping duties on white Portland cement imported from Egypt, said the industry ministry. Nhoa Energy, a unit of Nhoa SA, formerly Engie EPS, has announced the commissioning of a 107.3MWh energy storage project at a Chinese plant of Taiwan Cement Group (TCC Group). CRH plc has completed the latest phase of its share buyback programme, returning a further US$1bn in cash to shareholders. Between 30 June 2023 and 22 September 2023, 17.7m ordinary shares were repurchased on Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange. CEMEX is in talks with its banks over the refinancing of a US$3bn credit facility, according to Reuters. Cementos Argos inaugurates solar park in Honduras

Cementos Argos has opened its new solar park at its Choloma unit in Río Blanquito, Honduras. The facility is the second-largest in the Honduran cement industry. The company has invested US$1.2m in the new energy facility, which consists of 2100 photovoltaic modules. PPC reports improved results in 5MFY23-24

Revenue for PPC ’s South Africa and Botswana operations (excluding Zimbabwe and Rwanda) increased by five per cent YoY in the first five months of FY23-24 (April-August 2023), supported by higher average selling prices but lower sales volumes.
