AfriSam is reportedly appointing a new chief executive officer to help pave the way for the company’s proposed merger with PPC. Bheki Mthembu, former general manager of PPC’s operations in Gauteng, has been appointed CEO of PPC’s Rwandan subsidiary, CIMERWA. Mr Mthembu began his career at PPC in 1995 as a development chemist. Italian cement producer Cementir has appointed Paolo Bossi as CEO of Cementir Italia, Cementir Sacci and Betontir. The arrival of Paolo Bossi, following the acquisition of the cement and concrete business of Sacci, currently Cementir starts  the rationalisation process of the Cementir group in Italy, a company statement read. Fabrizio Donegá has been appointed as new CEO of Cementos Montezuma following the retirement of Pedro Carranza Andersen after 21 years of service with the company.
