Unacem plans to invest US$58m in 2015

Peru's Unacem intends to invest US$58m in its Atocongo and Condorcocho works next year. The projects focus on the development of the Carpapata III hydropower plant, the cement mill and packing area (Condorcocha) as well as  capacity expansions and other investments in fixed assets. This year, investments in its subsidiaries total US$545m as it signed a deal with Lafarge to acquire the latter's Ecuadorian cement subsidiary in June. Cemex Latam Holdings is to invest around US$340m in building an additional cement works in Colombia. The new cement works will be built in the Antioquia department, which is enjoying good economic growth. PT Indocement has reported a three per cent increase in domestic sales volumes to 8.97Mt in 1H14, compared to the same period in 2013. PT Semen Indonesia has posted a disappointing 12.8 per cent rise in revenue to IDR12.88trn (US$1.13bn) in 1H14, compared to growth of 31.9 per cent in the same period last year.
