Yura Chile SA, part of Peru's Yura (Gloria Group) has announced the start of a public offer for the acquisition of shares in Chile to purchase a stake of up to 20.059 per cent of Cementos Bío Bío SA (CBB). Chile-based Cemento Polpaico has reported a revenue of CLP75,974.55m (US$83.1m) in the second quarter of 2024, down 12.7 per cent when compared with CLP87,062.56m in the year-ago period. Chile-based Cementos Bio Bio SA (CBB) reported sales of CLP84.283bn (US$92.2m) in the second quarter of 2024, up 2.1 per cent from CLP82.569bn in the year-ago period. Peru-based Unacem saw its shipments jump by 96.4 per cent YoY to 324,000t in the 2Q24 following its acquisition of the Tehachapi cement plant in California, USA. Chile-based CBB reported sales of CLP97,781.67m (US$102.83m) in the 1Q24, up 11.1 per cent from CLP87,989.15m in the equivalent period of the previous year. Chile-based Cemento Polpaico SA , part of the Hurtado Vicuña Group , posted a loss of CLP4722.8m (US$4.81m) in 2023, compared with a CLP3921m profit in 2022. Chilean cement dispatches fell by 10.1 per cent YoY to 443,170t in December 2023 from 492,963t in December 2023, according to the Chilean construction chamber, CChC. In the full-year 2023 cement dispatches were down 11 per cent YoY to 5,208,803t from 5,854,997t in 2022.

Cement dispatches in Chile fell by 11.8 per cent to 408,824t in November 2023 from 463,307t in November 2022, according to data published by the country's construction chamber, CChC. In the first 11 months of 2023 dispatches were down 11.4 per cent to 4,751,918t from 5,362,034t in the year-ago period.
