Steppe Cement sees turnover improve 18% YoY in the 1H22

Steppe Cement sold 837,063t of cement in the first half of 2022, compared to 840,661t in the same period a year earlier. While volumes remained stable, turnover over the same period improved by 18 per cent from KZT16,657m (US$35.1m) to KZT19,579m. Taiwan Cement and Chia Hsin see June revenue increase

Taiwan Cement Corp reported a 7.8 per cent increase in revenue to TWD9145.989m (US$306.5m) in June 2022 from TWD8480.821m in June 2021. However, in the first half of 2022 the company’s revenue slipped 3.8 per cent to TWD48,144.732m from TWD50,023.365m. Chia Hsin Cement’ s revenue increased 8.5 per cent to TWD183.177m in June 2022 from TWD168.756m in June 2021. In the first six months of 2022 Chia Hsin’s revenue slipped from 1094.913m in the 6M21 to TWD1027.363m.

CEMEX completes bolt-on aggregates acquisition

CEMEX has announced that it has completed the acquisition of a 53 per cent stake in German aggregates company ProStein. The investment expands CEMEX’s aggregates business in the region while increasing the lifespan of its aggregates reserves in Europe. Nepal makes export debut to India

Nepal has exported cement to India for the first time. According to Palpa Cement Industries Ltd, the company shipped 3000 sacks of its Tansen brand to India on 9 July 2022 and will be exporting there on a daily basis as per demand going forward. Siam Cement plant catches on fire

PT Siam Cement Group ( SCG) factory on Jalan Palabuhan II, Sukabumi Regency, Thailand, has caught fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known. A number of vehicles and firefighters entered the factory area to extinguish the fire. There were no casualties in the incident. The President Director of PT Semen Jawa and PT Tambang Semen Sukabumi, Somchai Dumrongsil, confirmed the fire outbreak.
