Cemex expects to begin operating in the canyon in 2008 and could mine about 70Mt of sand and gravel over the next 20 years, with up to 600 trucks a day coming in and out. Cement plant faces court over dust cloud26 April 2006, Published under Cement NewsRugby Cement faces being prosecuted for an incident which led to homes and cars being covered in a thick layer of grit and dust. Cemex bosses are set to face magistrates for a dust cloud which spewed from its factory in Lawford Road, Rugby on October 14. The company has been charged by the Environment Agency with two offences under the Pollution Prevention and Control (England and Wales) Regulations 2000.
