The Hafslund Oslo Celsio CO 2 capture plant in Klemetsrud, Norway, has been started up with CO 2 Solutions technology provided by Saipem. The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released its first Net-Zero Industry Tracker 2022 report. It states that cement demand is forecast to rise 46 per cent by 2050 and suggests that US$185bn will have to be invested in CO 2 handling infrastructure and clean hydrogen production to enable low-emission cement plants. UltraTech Cement ( Aditya Birla group ) has released its 2021-22 Sustainability Report. The company claims that in FY2021-2022 it decreased its CO 2 intensity by 9.1 per cent at 551.86kg CO 2 /t of cementitious materials produced.
