The Spanish cement industry has recovered 57Mt of waste from 88 sectors between 2004-19, reports the Fundación CEMA in collaboration with Institut Cerdà. Through its Sacos Verdes (Green Bags) programme, Colombia-based cement producer Argos has recycled around 180t of cement packaging in 2021, the equivalent to stop cutting more than 1770 trees and saving more than 14,000m3 of water, or the daily supply of 83,000 people. Holcim Philippines has signed a 20-year deal with Blueleaf Energy, a leading renewable energy company, to deliver solar power to its plants in Norzagaray, Bulacan, and Bacnotan, La Union.
