UltraTech Cement has received clearance from the Ministry of Environment to expand capacity at its Awarpur plant in Maharasthra, subject to certain conditions. AMMC signs contract for Uzbekistan plant expansion

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) has signed a contract with Turkey-based Dal Teknik Makina to expand capacity of a cement plant in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers said. According to the document, the project worth US$35.7m is aimed at increasing the production capacity of the plant to 1Mta, Trend News Agency reported.

SCG Cement has outlined an additional investment of US$200-300m into Cambodia over the next five years, according to Aree Chavalitcheewingul, vice president for regional business of SCG Cement-Building Materials. Rwanda prime minister Anastase Murekez on Tuesday inaugurated Cimerwa’s new dry-process line which boosts capacity at the plant from 0.1Mta to 0.6Mta. The Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCCN), on Tuesday said it would invest NGN48bn (US$240m) into the ongoing modernisation of its facilities to double its production capacity.
