Dangote Cement is to invest US$450m to double capacity at its Oromia plant in Ethiopia. Local press reported that the Nigerian cement producer has already received a 36ha plot of land from Oromia State, near the plant's site in Mugher, Adebern Wereda The company requested the land from Oromia Investment Commission in September 2015. JSW Group plans to invest INR40bn (US$610m) to boost its port and cement capacity in the next two years. JSW Infrastructure Ltd, plans to almost double its ability to handle cargo at its ports to 62Mt, with a target to further increase it to 200Mt by 2025, Seshagiri Rao, group chief financial officer, said in an interview. Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) on Wednesday signed a credit contract with Thanh Thang Cement Corp to develop a second line at the Vietnamese cement producer's plant in the northern province of Ha Nam. The Kazakh Vice Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, Albert Rau, has met with President of Vicat Group, Guy Sidos, and Honorary President of the group, Jacques Merceron-Vicat, to discuss the operation and possible extension of Vicat's existing production plant at Zhambyl. Northern Cement Corp (NCC), part of the San Miguel Corp, has broken ground on the US$200m expansion of its plant in Pangasinan, Philippines. The new project will double the facility's capacity to more than 2Mta. "The economy and infrastructure sector are growing rapidly and by expanding NCC, we are supporting the development efforts of the Philippine government and reducing dependence on imported cement," NCC President Ramon S Ang was quoted in the statement as saying.
