Pacasmayo eyes US$300m mine, Peru

Cementos Pacasmayo, Peru’s second-largest cement company, said on Friday it is planning to invest at least $300 million to develop a phosphate mine and processing plant. The project would be located in Peru’s northern Piura district, near where the Brazilian mining giant Vale hopes to start production at its own phosphate mine by mid-year 2010. Lower prices limit India Cements Jul-Sep net rise

South-based India Cements reported a net profit of INR1.37bn on the back of a 3.6% rise in net sales to INR9.89bn. The state government has invited large and mini cement players in Gujarat for obtaining new mining lease of limestone blocks. European construction output fell in September as declines in Germany and Portugal offset rebounds in Spain and France.
