Indian producers report improved monthly sales growth

Leading Indian cement manufacturers have managed to achieve better sales growth in the range of 7.4-28 per cent in July in spite of monsoon which is usually a lean season for the sector. China’s cement industry maintained rapid growth in production, sales and profits in the first half of this year, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Indocement considers two new factories, Indonesia

PT Indocement, part of the HeidelbergCement Group, is conducting a feasibility study to build two cement factories with a production capacity of 2.5Mta.

Iran cement production up 19%

Iran’s cement production has reached 23.41Mt in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), new figures show. According to a report published by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the new data show a 19 per cent growth in Iran’s cement output compared to corresponding figures last year, Mehr news agency reported.

The Lebak regency administration in Banten (a province on the island of Java) says it has not renewed the permit given to Australian company Boral Indonesia to carry out land acquisition for a planned cement plant. Dangote Cement profit climbed 8.9 per cent in the six months through June as sales rose. Profit after tax increased to NGN57.7bn (US$378.2m) compared with NGN53bn a year earlier, according to a statement published on the Nigerian Stock Exchange’s website today. Czech cement production grew by 21% YoY to 1.7Mt in the first half of this year and its consumption rose by 11% to 1.4Mt, according to the latest data of the Czech Cement Producers’ Association.
