Huaxin Cement Co of China has signed an agreement to invest US$150m in the construction of a 1Mta cement plant in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. The deal was signed by Berdybek Saparbayev, governor of the Aktobe region, and Xu Yongmo, chairman of the board of Huaxin Cement. The Turkish Dal Engineering Group will commission a new 1.5Mta cement plant in the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan by late 2017, a representative from the country's Ministry of Economy told Trend News Agency. Ciment de l’Afrique (CIMAF), a subsidiary of the Addoha Group of Morocco, has opened its new factory in Cameroon. The new plant, located in the industrial area of Bonaberi in Douala, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Cameroon, Philemon Yang. Commissioning of the plant comes nearly a year after the start of cement production by the plant with a current capacity of 500,000tpa.

China-based Asian and African Business Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Namibian company Whale Rock Cement for a US$350m cement plant.
