K-Electric to supply 40MW of electricity to new DG Khan cement plant, Pakistan

K-Electric (KE) and DG Cement Ltd have signed an agreement through which the power utility will provide 40MW of electricity to the cement producer's upcoming plant in Hub, Balochistan, Pakistan . National Cement plans expansion into Uganda

National Cement, which currently operates a grinding plant in Kenya, plans to invest KES18.5bn (US$199m) in a new factory in Uganda, according to local news reports. The new plant marks the company's first foray into Uganda, and its first venture outside Kenya. Mumbai Port Trust allots land for cement handling terminal

The Mumbai Port Trust has allocated allotted 25,000m2 of land at Petroleum Godown to UltraTech Cement for 30 years, to build a fully-automated cement handling terminal. Cemex is bringing forward the expansion of Caracolito plant in Colombia, the corporate affairs vice-president of the company’s Mexican division has said. Dandot Cement Co reported a loss after tax of PKR342.24m (US$3.4m) in the first half of the current Pakistan fiscal compared to a loss of PKR 380.42m in the comparative period of the year before.
