Holcim Philippines increased its net profit for 9M16 by nearly 20 per cent YoY to PHP5.4bn (US$111.8m), helped by a double-digit growth in cement sales. Vietnam cement exports fall 17.2% YoY in 9M16

In September Vietnam’s clinker and cement exports fell 0.3 per cent to 1.15Mt when compared with August but climbed 3.5 per cent to US$48.16m, according the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. The United Filipino Consumers and Commuters (UFCC) is urging government officials to stop smuggling at Iloilo pots and across the rest of the region. Philippines: Eagle Cement to break ground on Davao plant

Eagle Cement has said that it will begin construction work on its new 2Mta cement plant in Davao in the south of the country on 20 October, according to reports in the Business Inquirer. Eagle Cement’s owner, Ramon Ang, first announced plans to expand Eagle’s capacity in June 2015, proposing to build two new plants in Davao and Cebu, as well as expanding the company’s existing facility in Bulacan.
