Cement production in Azerbaijan reached a high of 2.04Mt in 2013, up 3.8 per cent YoY. The central Asian country has recently seen the entry of two new players. Vietnam's Jan cement output increases

Vietnam is estimated to produce 4.8Mt of cement in January, up three per cent YoY but down 13.24 per cent from December 2013, the government General Statistics Office said in a monthly report. The office revised down the country’s cement output in December 2013 to 5.5Mt the earlier estimated figure of 5.7Mt. In 2013, Vietnam’s cement output hit 56.84Mt, according to the revised figure.

Ahangarancement output rises in 2013, Uzbekistan

Ahangarancement, part of the Eurocement Group, produced over 1.116Mt of clinker and 1.62Mt of cement in 2013. The Uzbekistan-based producer said clinker volumes rose by 13 per cent YoY (or 137,600t) while cement output was up by six per cent (86,400t). Grey cement production in Colombia during November 2013 totalled 1.02Mt, a 9.6 per cent increase when compared with the same month of the previous year. Akhangarancement, part of Eurocement Group, has reported a rise in clinker in cement production in the first 11 months of 2013. Over January-November, the Russia-based producer produced 1.074Mt of clinker and 1.47Mt of cement, a YoY rise of 11.7 and 2.2 per cent, respectively. Vietnam full-year output seen 4.7% higher

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 57Mt of cement in 2013, up from 4.7 per cent a year ago, the government's General Statistics Office (GSO) has said. During December, output is estimated to have increased by 7.54 per cent from the previous month, and nine per cent YoY to reach 5.5Mt, according to the latest GSO estimates.
