Titan America has begun turning selected wastes into alternative fuel for use at its Pennsuco plant in Medley, Florida. The company works with a unit of Republic Services in Fort Lauderdale that collects refuse from businesses, mostly in Broward County. During the first nine months to the end of February, Texas Industries Inc saw turnover rise by 34.4 per cent to US$649.8m and the EBITDA advanced by 46 per cent to US$69m. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the United States and Puerto Rico in January were 4.9Mt, up slightly from the January 2013 level, USGS data released today shows. On a turnover 2.1 per cent lower at EUR2753.1m, Buzzi Unicem's EBITDA improved by 5.7 per cent to EUR481.2m.
