Eagle Materials posts record revenue in FY19-20

US-based Eagle Materials has reported a record revenue of US$1.45bn in the FY19-20, up four per cent from US$1.39bn in the previous fiscal year. Net earnings climbed three per cent YoY to US$70.89m from US$68.86m, while adjusted EBITDA edged up one per cent to US$471.5m. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement, including imports, in the USA and Puerto Rico advanced 5.1 per cent YoY to 7.7Mt in March 2020, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). CalPortland has awarded a supply contract to FLSmidth for its Mojave raw mill project. The scope of supply includes engineering, equipment and installation of a new OK 48-4 raw mill with a condition monitoring system and an ECS/ProcessExpert system. Votorantim Cimentos' financial statement for the period ended 31 March 2020 reported net revenue up nine per cent to BRL2747m (US$494.6m) from BRL2524m in the 1Q19, while adjusted EBITDA fell to BRL232m from BRL586m in the 1Q19. LafargeHolcim has strengthened its partnership with Solidia Technologies to reduce CO 2 across its value chain. Buzzi Unicem has released its 1Q20 results which saw net sales reach EUR688.5m, up 4.9 per cent on 1Q19. Cement sales rose by 0.4 per cent to 6Mt, while concrete volumes fell by 3.5 per cent to 2.5Mm 3 , compared to 1Q19. Net debt as at 31 March 2020 amounted to EUR525.2m, EUR46.6m lower compared to the year-end 2019.
