WCA's CEO responds to WWF EU ETS free allocation analysis

Ian Riley, CEO of the World Cement Association, has responded to recent analysis from the World Wildlife Fund on the  EU ETS emissions over the examined period (2013-21), when more than half of the emissions (53 per cent) were handed out to polluters for free through the so-called ‘free allocation’ scheme. Italian cement output down 4% in September

Italy’s cement production declined by four per cent YoY in September 2022, according to the country’s construction chamber, Federbeton. When compared with the 2015 base index production the value increased from 61 in August to 96 per cent in September. Spanish cement demand slips 0.4% in October

Cement demand in Spain has edged down by 0.4 per cent YoY to 1,264,554t in October 2022, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. The fall represents a six-month decline since May.
