Boral chief executive Mark Selway said he expected sales of building materials to increase in Queensland once reconstruction commenced. Macquarie Equities said that Queensland accounts for 28 per cent of Boral’s revenue. Other companies expected to benefit from reconstruction work include Brickworks, Adelaide Brighton and CSR. Adelaide Brighton has a joint venture with Boral in Queensland - Sunstate Cement. CSR sold its Sucrogen sugar operations in 2010. Profits of contract mining operators such as Downer EDI and Leighton are expected to be affected by mining operation delays. JPMorgan expects that most road rebuilding will be done "in house" by the Queensland Government.
