Lafarge Zimbabwe has set its sights on increasing exports to the Mozambican market and has already completed the formalities to supply the northern parts of that country under the Sadc (South African Development Community) rules of origin.
The company is targeting to export a total of 50,000t to its two export markets – Mozambique and Malawi.
With cement being a controlled product in Zimbabwe, Lafarge has to obtain a specific export licence first from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for each of the orders secured from the two export markets.
