Senegalese exports fell 10.2 per cent to CFA83bn (US$175.7m) in August on declining petroleum and cement shipments, the state statistical agency said.

Exports from the West African country rose 13.1 per cent to CFA685bn in the first eight months of 2010, as total cement shipments increased 44.5 per cent, the agency said.

Imports into the former French colony fell 20.1 per cent to CFA175.3bn in the first eight months of the year, four per cent higher than the same period in 2009, the statement said.
