Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) has signed an agreement with China National Building Material (CNBM), to build a cement unloading-conveying-storage and truck-fill terminal, an official said.

The agreement was signed between QPMC’s chairman, Khalid al-Rabban and CNBM’s vice president Wang Guodong.

The project is scheduled to take 24 months to complete and will be part of the economic and strategic development at the gabbro berths in Mesaieed, al-Rabban said.

The cement silo terminal is expected to provide consistent product availability and price stability for major projects in Qatar and benefit the government and private sector. “It will assist the Qatari construction sector to accelerate a series of current and future economic and strategic projects,” the official said.

QPMC presently operates and manages gabbro berths 1 and 2 and the return quay at Mesaieed Port.
