ACC, India-based manufacturer of cement and ready-mix concrete, reported a marginal increase in its stand-alone net profit for the first-quarter on an increase in revenue.

The company said several of its cement units faced dispatch constraints due to non-availability of railway wagons, as a result of which the sales volume were near flat. However, it could register some increase in sales turnover, driven by price improvements in a few regions.

First quarter stand-alone net profit rose marginally INR405.13 crore or INR21.53 per share from INR404.76 crore or INR21.54/share in the corresponding quarter.

For the quarter under review, cement sales were 5.58Mt, down 2.6 per cent from 5.73Mt in the same quarter of last year, the company said.
