Iran intends to construct cement and asphalt producing plants in the South African state of Comoros, an Iranian envoy announced on Tuesday.

"We are transferring cement and asphalt plants to the country," Iran’s Economic Attaché in Comoros Jalil Makinechi said at a news conference on the expansion of Iran’s investments on the Comoros Islands.

Highlighting capabilities and potentials of the Islands for foreign investment and economic activities, he pointed out that Comoros can serve as a bridge for transporting Iranian goods and products to the other countries by air and sea.
