Eurocement sees government decision on export duties soon
The Russian government is expected to make a decision concerning export duties on cement soon, Filaret Galchev, head of the Russian cement producer Eurocement Group, told reporters late Monday, ITAR-TASS reported.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service recently submitted proposals to the government to temporary lift export duties on cement, media reported earlier. At present, the export duty on cement amounts to 6.5% of the customs value.
Galchev also said that he hoped the government would introduce an import duty on cement sometime in December–February. He said he hoped an import duty of US$30/t would be introduced for at least seven years.
