India’s biggest cement maker ACC Cement Ltd and Gujarat Ambuja will award on Thursday Sept 25 a tender for 100,000t each of Indonesian and South African coal, Indian traders said.
The two companies issued a joint tender for coal for Q1 2010 delivery. Offers were submitted on a CIF basis.
Indian cement makers have during the past few months sought to buy coal at US$80.00/t or less on a delivered basis.
In recent months, South African coal has been several dollars per tonne cheaper CIF than Indonesian.
