The wind turbines will be installed in the third phase of the Tetouan wind farm in Morocco. In addition to the supply of the wind turbine generators, the contract also includes their installation and start-up, the turn-key expansion of the wind farm, as well as its operation and maintenance between 2009 and 2012.

The closure of this deal reportedly consolidates Gamesa’s position in Morocco, where it has entered into agreements for the installation of wind turbines with a total capacity of 232MW to date.

These installations are expected to replace the energy equivalent to 2,580 tonnes of petroleum per year, and avoid the emission of 18,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere every year.
