Fujitsu  Australia is providing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to Adelaide Brighton with plant maintenance, inventory and accounting capabilities.

The project promises to be a challenging one, as Adelaide Brighton is a complex business in multiple locations across all Australian states and territory. It sells cement, lime, ready-mixed concrete, aggregates and masonry products, and employs 1550 staff.

According to Fujitsu, it won the project after a four-month evaluation process focusing on comparative demonstrations of the competing software, as well as an assessment of how the solution would be implemented.

It adopted a best-practice delivery approach to the project. The plant maintenance, inventory and accounts features will be deployed in the second quarter of 2009, while sales and finance functionality will be available by July 2009.
