A working group of the Russian government’s commission for protection measures in foreign trade has unanimously endorsed abolition of the cement import duty indefinitely, Kommersant reports.

The zero duty that is in force now expires in October. Its introduction in January resulted in an influx of cement imports, pushing cement prices on the Russian market down by over 20% in May-July and forcing the market’s leader, Eurocement, to cut its production by one third.
