Fives FCB and the Mexican Company Cementos Apasco, part of the Holcim Group, have recently signed and put into force a contract covering the supply of complete mechanical, electrical-automation equipment and steel structures, the detailed design of civil works and the supervision of erection works and commissioning for a 3500tpd greenfield cement plant located in the vicinity of HERMOSILLO (State of SONORA).

The main features of the process line consist in the crushing of the raw materials in a 3 stages system (one giratory crusher and two cone crushers), the preblending of main raw mix (limestone and basalt), the storages of correctives (HG limestone, bauxite, iron), the storages of solid fuels (petcoke and coal), the raw meal grinding with one ball mill, the burning line with one six stages preheater with precalciner and burner designed to allow feeding of solid AFR, one 3 piers rotary kiln with modern type clinker cooler, a common filtration for burning line and clinker cooler, the grinding of solid fuels with VRM, the cement grinding with 3 HOROMILLS® and the complete packing and dispatching system (2 rail bulk loading systems, 1 truck bulk loading system, big bags loading device, rotary packer, palletizing system, etc.)

The supply shall include a very significant number of Fives FCB owned equipment, namely: one 272 tph shoe-bearing ball mill for raw grinding (4900 kW installed power) with one TSV™ classifier, one 6 stages preheater with low pressure drop cylones and low NOx precalciner, one 4.5 x 70 m rotary kiln, three HOROMILLS® 3800 for cement grinding (capacity from 80 to 96 tph depending on the type of cement produced, installed power 2300 kW each) with three TSV™ classifiers.

The supply of these 3 HOROMILLS® for the HERMOSILLO plant, following the successful operation of the first HOROMILL for the HOLCIM Group in Costa Rica, will bring to 16 the number of HOROMILLS® supplied and installed by Fives FCB in Mexico.
