The Alashankou Port in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region exported 284,600t of cement in the first 10 months of the year, valued at US$ 16.09bn, rising by 5.81 times and 5.87 times YoY respectively.

The rapid increase in cement exports was mainly due to Kazakhstan accelerating its construction of basic infrastructure, driving up its cement demand in the period.

However, Kazakhstan lacks large cement plants and the domestically manufactured cement cannot satisfy domestic demand, while at the same time the cement market price in the country is much higher than the market price in China, allowing large profits for Chinese cement exporting enterprises.
